When your teammate is in intense-D pushing the bigman, approach him from the side or behind to sandwich the bigman and to be close the dribbling ball. your mark should to be in the corner or at least close by, so you can reach him quick just in case has to be in post-up position coming from either side of the corner

opponent has to be a big man (good chance of low ball control) Opprinnelig skrevet av TETRAGRAMMATON:DO NOT TRY TO DOUBLE TEAM it sucks but you hurt your team more by trying to help then them getting aboused man on man it goes against what Tetragrammaton says and i highly agree with him on double teaming, but at very rare occasions double teaming can be effective. good D players leave a bit of a distance and don't start following people like glue from the get go, so doesn't work on them.

blame lag+reaction, most of the time people can't catch up if they take the bait. cut to the basket by doing a sharp turn with sprint and there is a high chance for an easy layup. I don't know the name for it, but at the very beginning of the game or after a foul when you have to pass the ball to start the game, if your team got the ball and you are not the one with the ball, at first move close to your mark and then move slowly towards your teammate and try to lure your mark to follow. most of the time you'll get run over if it's a tank running towards you, but at least you tried. now it's just a gamble, which one you are gonna put D on, but don't use intense-D until you've made up your mind since it slows you down and it will be already too late to move. IF there is another opponent running down the lane at the fastbreak and you are alone, stay between the 2. he'll pass it 98% of the time if he gets caught in the animation in that situation with an open teammate. ONLY do this if opponent's teammate is not running with him in the lane completely open. he gets caught in the animation which slows down the tempo and gives your teammate time to catch up to transition back to D. Stop fast breaks by the opponent if you are closer than your teammate even if it's not your mark just by simply holding intense-D left trigger. obivously doesn't work if you do it too often. most of the time the one marking you comes sprinting towards you either prematurely jumping or stopping in front of you, but there is a delay if he tries changing into the opposite direction if he is sprinting towards you, so try to run pass him at the last second with or without crossover. if a teammate is driving to the basket and gets double teamed, run to an open spot behind the perimeter, stay there without moving pretending going for a catch&shoot and call/hope for an outside pass. There is a good chance to pump fake people into jumping even without actually pumpfaking if you position yourself somewhere open at the perimeter (3pt line) in certain situations. at least that way there is a chance to brick the layup or shot. Don't jump on D trying to block shots from the front, just put your hands up (hold right stick up) with intense-D (left trigger?), especially in the paint.
